Founded in 1846, The Associated Press (AP) today is one of the largest and most trusted sources of independent newsgathering. On any given day, more than half the world’s population sees news from the AP. It has received 49 Pulitzer Prizes, more than any other news organization in the categories for which it can compete. It also has 30 photo Pulitzers, the most of any news organization. Through an exclusive relationship with AccuWeather, Inc., education institutions and public libraries can subscribe to the AP Images from AccuWeather™ and gain unlimited access from the school, library, or home with full copyright protection.

AP Images from AccuWeather is a primary source database from the AP that takes users on a sensory journey of videos, photographs, audio sound bites, graphics, and text spanning more than 180 years of history. User comprehension and recall skills will improve with visually stimulating imagery meant for use in research papers, theses, reports, and PowerPoint presentations.

AP Images has now been enhanced to feature the new AP Images interface, which includes a powerful new search engine and concept showcases. More than 7 million primary-source photographs for every discipline, from the 1820s to a minute ago, are available, including the original captions. Also available from the world’s most respected news gathering organization are more than 230,000 graphics, including maps, timelines, logos, and graphs. In addition, more than 2.5 million primary source full text news stories are available along with more than 1.9 million primary source audio clips dating back to the 1920s when radio first became a viable news medium. Updated daily, AP Images from AccuWeather is licensed for educational research use exclusively through AccuWeather, Inc.
